Vitamix is a fourth-generation family-owned business that makes legendary blenders. As a company, their mission is to “create relationships for life by designing, developing and producing the world’s best performing and most reliable blending solutions.” Vitamix blenders are an investment, so the company is always seeking creative ways to expand its market.
The lead of Vitamix’s direct sales and client experience team asked Inbloom to lead a strategy session focused on one goal
- Establish strategic growth opportunity recommendations for 2017 to support Vitamix sales team goals and objectives.
Inbloom’s work with Vitamix encompassed three phases. To prepare for the session, Inbloom worked closely with the team lead at Vitamix to obtain input from her direct reports on their respective areas, and to learn about the company’s overarching goals and mission. At the session, Inbloom led seven Vitamix employees through a discussion about expectations, goals, consensus and opportunities for each business area. Inbloom next asked session participants for their ideas, specifically for one idea related to an overall team initiative, and another for a growth opportunity in their area of responsibility. Throughout the session, Inbloom offered ideas, and gently challenged team members to approach familiar problems in innovative ways.
In a final report, Inbloom captured an analysis of the session discussion, a Strategic Growth Opportunity Framework, raw session notes and participant feedback.
The facilitated session clarified challenges, reemphasized strengths and revealed new opportunities for collaboration within the Vitamix direct sales and client experience team. Inbloom captured that energy and inspiration in a concise report with three immediately actionable ideas to increase sales and engagement.
